THobbiton. Click for a larger view.he Shire is the home of hobbits, elves, humans orcs, trolls, and things unspeakable. It comprises roughly everything north of the Sarn Forn on the west and Lothlorien on the east, including all of Mirkwood forest, the Misty Mountains, and the Mines of Moria.

Many familiar areas are open for players to visit. To the west is the Grey Havens, an important port where players may visit distant lands. This important harbor is connected to the rest of the domain by the Great East road. It runs east through the Shire, past Bree, along the Midgewater Marshes, through the Trollshaws, Imladris or Rivendell in the Common tongue, crosses the Misty Mountains and ends at the western edge of Mirkwood Forest.

Other important areas open are the Mines of Moria, the Goblin Caves in the Misty Mountains, the Barrow Downs, the fallen realm of Arnor and Annuminas. Players may visit important hobbit villages including Michel Delving, Hobbiton, Whitfurrows, and Frogmorton.

Presently, we are updating the domain and developing new and exciting things and places for mortals to enjoy. But, as always, the domain is open to new ideas and suggestions to make it better and enjoyable for players. The goal is to provide a place where all levels of players can come, from the smallest newbie to the largest hero.

Like the Gondor domain, the Shire is based on Tolkien's rich books. They provide places with little characterization and hints of much more. The two domains work closely together, which often results in similar areas maintained by either domains. As a result, many projects overlap between the two domains.

Guilds and Clubs
There several important layman and racial guilds open. The layman guilds include the Heralds of the Valar, the Tricksters, and the Blacksmiths. The racial guilds include the Noldor of Imladris, the Adventuresome Hobbits, and in Faerie, the Wild Elves.
