Newbie Help Line

Donut Dwellers,

I feel compelled to remind everyone that the newbie help line is to be
used *exclusively* to help players who are new to the game and who are
in need of or want your assistance. I had to ban someone from the line today
for blatant abuse (trolling) on the line, and I also suspended them from the
game for 24 hours.

Also, please do not use the line to meet your own needs. For example, using
the ntell line to see if there are newbies you can recruit for your own
goals (i.e. a 1000pc imbuement) is not welcome.

Thanks, and please be responsible with Genesis one exception to the no-chat-
line rule! ;-)

On the imbuement things

If you give the newbies a reward for it I cant see the harm? I mean genesis is like that, alot of people ask others to do stuff for them and then pay them for it.

The first one I can understand, the spam was insanely annoying -.-

No. The distinction here is very important. The newbie line is to be used by newbies who need help, not by established players wanting to hire newbies. I will ban people from the line if I see them using it this way.

Code: Select all

<Newbie> Travis: how do you get the numbers from the paddles to accept the bids
<Newbie> Syrk: exa paddle, read fine print
<Newbie> Travis: not my paddle the bidders' paddles
<Newbie> Syrk: you mean the quest helping the dwarf? dont remember
<Newbie> Syrk: it seemed somehow obvious to me
<Newbie> Belak: i can help
<Newbie> Travis: i don't know the syntax to accept bids from bidders
<Newbie> Laurel: as Syrk said - it seemed quite obvious inside there, so maybe recall what the dwarf told you?
<Newbie> Syrk: recalling is not so obvious
<Newbie> Travis: I type in 'accept bid' and it asks me from what paddle number. I don't know how to get the paddle number from the people
hmmm, Syrk's ironic remark aside ( ;) ) let's do it "Carrie Bradshaw style"
I began to wonder: is it really that obvious, are we attracting the wrong players, did the newbie area NOT prepare them for the rest of Genesis questing pain or did we (in this case me and Syrk) get to accept not-quite-obvious-and-logic things as "obvious" cause we play this game for years?
