who - To whom you are directing your message. You can always
give 'all' to reach anyone who might feel sympathetically
inclined to help you.

A destination of 'here' will only commune to all the
wizards connected and in the domain you are currently
in.

Any destination except 'all' is costly however, you pay
a tenth of you max mana for any such call.

mantra - Any string you deem fit to bring attention to your plight.

Example:

commune all Pray save me, a vicious bug tells me strange
messages and won't let me do anything!

WARNING
Sending up prayers when not assailed by serious bugs may result in
divine retribution instead of divine intervention.

Do not meddle in the affairs of wizards -
for they are subtle and quick to anger.

SYNOPSYS
You can identify an adverb by abbreviating it to a minimum of
three characters. Note that not all adverbs can be accessed with
only three characters.

DESCRIPTION
Adverbs can be used together with many emotions. Do "help emotions"
for more information on the general emotions.

NOTE
All emotions that can be used with an adverb have a default adverb
if you do not specify an adverb. To specify that you do not want to
use an adverb at all, use the period. "smile ." will just make you
smile and not smile happily for happily is the default adverb for
the emotion smile.

CAVEAT
Due to the nature of the search algorith, you cannot rely on
getting the first adverb that matches the pattern alphabetically.
Typing "smile con" _might_ give the same as "smile confusedly", so
at least "smile confi" if you want to smile confidently.

armageddon

NAME
Armageddon - not a command, just information.

DESCRIPTION
From time to time, Armageddon will show up to shut the game down.
The reason for this is usually that the host computer runs out
of memory, but there can be other reasons too.

What basically happens is that the game is closed down and that
everyone is forced to quit, though you can naturally connect again
if the game has been rebooted. This usually takes a few minutes,
though it is better to wait five minutes and give Armageddon a
chance to clean out some things before he boots the game again.

When Armageddon shows up, you can ask him to teleport you to your
starting location, so you may sell your equipment if you want
that. Several of the items you carry may not survive the reboot.

SYNOPSIS

[emotion] [adverb]
[emotion] [living]
[emotion] [adverb] [living] or [emotion] [living] [adverb]

The emotions beg, pat, point, poke and scratch can have a slightly
different form, but I am sure you will figure that out correctly.

DESCRIPTION
Emotions can be used in either of these four forms, though not all
can be used in all forms. In some cases, the adverb comes before the
living, in some it comes behind.

[adverb] To get a list of adverbs or to get more information on the
use of adverbs in general, type "help adverbs". All emotions
marked with an * can be used together with adverbs.

[living] can take several forms. It can be a name or description of
one or more people. The use of prepositions for several
emotions is optional. The article "the" can also be omitted
if you are describing someone.

"Mercade", "at mercade", "dwarf wizard", "the dwarfs",
"all", "up to the friendly dwarf" can all be valid
forms for [living].

EXAMPLES

sigh -] sigh deeply (the default adverb for sigh)
sigh reli -] sigh relieved
sigh relieved -] sigh relieved

teams

NAME
teams - groups of players working together

INFORMATION
A team is a group of players who move and work together, normally
with the purpose of killing tough monsters or solving quests.

A team always has a leader. This is the person who invites
people to join him. When a team leader moves from one location
to another, all team member who are in the first location
follow the leader.

When an opponent is killed by a team member, the experience gained
is shared between all team members who are present. The share
of a non present member is gone to waste.

When solving quests, the normal case is that only one person
can solve it and receive experience. There are, however some quests
where the entire team solves the quest and all members present
receive full experience.

wizards

Genesis is run by the following crew: (in alphabetical order)

Keepers Lars (Honorary)
Tintin (Game policy and management)

Arches
Akeisha (Balance Arch)
Wisk (Player Arch)
Mercade (Mudlib Arch)
Marvin (Cool Arch)
Karath (Domain Arch)
Shiva (Code Arch)

>From top down:

Lars:
The founder of the game. A rare but welcome sight.

Akeisha:
In charge of maintaining a balance of guilds, domains, and the
numerous systems in Genesis.

Mercade:
He works with the mudlib to make the game more exciting. He is the
Mudlib arch, which means he'll be the one to ask if you want to get
something added or do some work there yourself.

Wisk:
The playerarch makes sure that the players follow the rules and
addresses any concerns or problems they may have.

Marvin:
No real tasks, but steps in to add quality features to the game
when he so desires. Yes, top-notch prankster and enfant terrible
as well...

Karath:
Helps the domains to communicate through the LC and also manages
the actual creation of new domains. He is also in charge of
recruitment, i.e. if you want to become a wizard, talk to him!

Shiva:
Upholds documentation and code quality in the mudlib and examples.
Assists new wizards in learning to code and helps old hands at tricky code.

Tintin:
Is keeping this place on track and are defining the policies
concerning the development of Genesis.

POLICY ON SPECIAL SUBJECTS

Keepers vs. Arches:

The keepers run the game. They define policies (like these) and in general
keep the game going. They have special people helping them in their work;
the arches. In theory, an arch has the same working-power as a keeper, but
in practice you will find that all arches defer fundamental policy-related
questions to the keepers. Arches have certain areas of special interest and
authority. In general, approach an arch before looking for a keeper, they
are busy enough anyway.

Honorary title holders:

These people hold their rank due to old merits. They are all major
contributors to Genesis and mudding in general. Being now retired, they
have no formal tasks, so don't expect anything at all from them.

Disruptive people:

People who cheat, destroy and are abusive are not welcome on Genesis at
all. They will be suspended on sight by the first arch to encounter them.
Their future fate to be decided by the archwizard council.

races

Humans -
Humans are a common race. Study a mirror. They are about average
in all stats.

Elves -
Elves are an ancient and somewhat immortal race. They tend to have
high intelligence and wisdom. Dexterity is not so bad either.
They have troubles with discipline, and their constitution as well
as strength are generally poor.

Dwarves -
Dwarves are a short and stubborn race, very old. They are very strong
and have very good constitution and are disciplined. They lack wisdom
and aren't too bright. Their real drawback is their stiffness.

Hobbits -
Hobbits are a merry race. They like food and songs and dance. They
are incredibly dexterous, and a little wiser than average. They
are about average intelligence and discipline, but have low
constitution. They are also the weakest of all races.

Gnomes -
Gnomes are a tricky race. They like money and gadgets. They are highly
intelligent, but their wisdom is incredibly low in comparison. They
are rather dexterous and quick, but have more problems with strength
and discipline. Their constitution isn't very good either.

Goblins -
Goblins are evil creatures about the size of a hobbit. They are
strong killing machines and have a very good constitution. In fact
the best of all races. Their dexterity is average as well as their
wisdom, but their intelligence and discipline are the worst of all
races.

recover

NAME
recover - Recover equipment after logging out

SYNOPSIS
This is not a command, but a description

DESCRIPTION
Every once in a while Armageddon will come and shut down the
game. Often you will want to keep the armours and weaponry you
have collected before. To do this, you should go to any startup
location - the place where you usually start the game will do
fine - and type "save" there. The items that should return will
glow briefly.

Objects that should be able to recover though that are stuck,
will fail to glow briefly. To see whether an object is able to
recover, you might also appraise it.

There is one catch: you have to return within two hours, or else
the items will be lost anyway.

quicktyper

The QUICKTYPER was designed to offer some functions that make life a
little easier when typing commands. You can make aliases for long
commands or commands you use often, you can easily repeat the last given
command and you can execute a sequence of commands with only one command.

COMMANDS
alias - show the list of current aliases
alias cmd - show the meaning of alias "cmd"
alias cmd what to do - make "cmd" an alias for "what to do"
unalias cmd - remove the alias named "cmd"
do cmd1,cmd2,cmd3,.. - execute several commands in sequence
do - pause execution of sequenced commands
resume - resume paused commands
%% - repeat last command
help quicktyper - print this help text

EXAMPLES
alias bw buy whisky - makes 'bw' a command to buy a whisky
do smile, look, laugh - makes you first smile, then look
around and at last, laugh

After having done a "do", typing "%%" will NOT make you smile, look and
laugh again, but it will only make you laugh due to implementational
reasons.

wizhood

The ultimate goal for many a mortal is to become immortal. If you play
well and gain a lot of experience you might one day be accepted into
the ranks of wizards. To be considered worthy of wizardhood you must
aquired at least the rank of Great Adventurer and have an age of minimum
4 days.

When you are considered worthy, you will be allowed to enter the room east
of the lobby board in Sparkle. In that room there is a board where you can
place a formal application for wizardhood. Observe that you can post on
this board, but not read it. Only Archwizards and the Lieges of the domains
can do that.
