I've gotten quite a bit of feedback on the statistics. Much of it has been
appreciative. Some of it has been quite negative. Most interesting to me
has been the desire for more complete information. As many have noted,
numbers alone paint a very incomplete picture. Therefore, please remember
that statistics of this sort are far from a panacea. They can inform us
in limited ways, but are good to have if, for no other reason, the sake
of amusement and curiosity.
Therefore, I am posting a revised account of the statistics for the year
June to June 2007-2008 of PvP kills.
A few things to consider with regard to these numbers:
- All deaths of the player Vinz have been removed from the statistics
as his is a playstyle that does not represent the norm, and had the
effect of skewing the numbers something terrible.
- All deaths as a result of joining an undead guild have been removed
from the statistics.
- All instances where a player killed themself have been removed from
the statistics.
- I now have two lists. Killers and victims.
- I now include a rough comparison of whether the killer was bigger,
even, or smaller than the victim in level.
- Somewhere in my accounting, I lost 2 kills in the second list.
I could probably find them, but it would take me an hour, and
I don't feel like worrying about it! ;-)
