Re: Recruitment?
I dont think a helper should be assigned a soecific helper. I would more like such a club to just add another level to the ntell helpers. Showing that you're awake and interested in spending your time with a newbie, assisting with whatever. Introduce some RP, i would see as a sort of requirement. Bu...

Re: Alignment
I am sure that for a lot of semi-goodie guilds, which just cant go evil, it will make a huge difference.

Re: List of layman ideas (Middle Earth)
I think a combined race/ layman orc guild sounds like an amazing idea. I think the racial offers sword, so perhaps building further on that. I would think it fun if they had a special based on them biting the enemy, inflicting some sort of poison/wound damage. It could, instead of direct damage, be ...

Re: The case for closure – fighter guilds
In any case, I too find the application process to be fun and engaging, the problems arise when you can't really do it due to absent, inactive and/or uncaring leadership in the guilds. Personally I see no reason why joining a guild and advancing through some lower ranks couldn't be handled by NPCs....

Re: Recruitment?
I agree that money is an issue for a new player, but I don't think giving people a huge lump of money when they exit the tutorial is a good idea. (50-100 plat would be way enough, to start them off well) I would rather suggest that shops pay double for loot to people until they've completed 10% ques...

Re: The case for closure – fighter guilds
This would have to change the dynamic of how idle works, though. Idle would for example be standing in the same room without moving. I don't know of many meetings that last for more than 2 hours, and if there is a max time there should also be a warning. At which time talking people would get up and...

Re: The case for closure – fighter guilds
The members are excellent at idling.
Which those stats don't take into account.
So guilds where characters are only awake when being actively played are of course seen as much less active than those where members are logged in 24/7.

Re: Close the thief guild!
My most recent idea was to introduce a special system to the thieves: You can attempt to (successfully or not) steal from other players 3 times within 24 hours. After the third time you receive a warning that you're drawing too much attention to the Cabal. Each subsequent attempt produces another w...

Re: The case for closure – fighter guilds
You clearly speak from a totally unenlightened point of view when talking about PoT.
Their leadership has to my knowledge not been inactive for the last decade, and the guild is far from lacking members.
Also your take on Rangers. Another view without knowledge.

Re: The rise of the Nameless Horror!
This is course requires that the leadership is able to perform and encourage roleplay. Mostly, becoming a roleplay guild requires that the top takes the lead in that. If that doesn't happen from the beginning, it is often too late. In my eyes is also takes people of various kinds to run a RP guild, ...
