The non-combat timer is decreasing faster than expected. Its been only a few days since this was implemented but the non-combat time has decreased by almost 20 days for some items. I wonder if the non-combat time left is being scaled by the ratio of combat time used / max combat time allowed?

Has the admin decided if this new decay system will replace the existing degradation system, or will it be added in addition to the existing system? I'm recommending the former - but I dont think its clear what the intent is.

I like your proposed system Arman. Have you considered adding a bit of a sliding scale based on discipline? Perhaps around 100 hours at low levels of dis, maybe 200 at high levels of discpline. This would help maintain the idea of adding some usefulness to discipline especially once one surpases the...

I think the simplistic solutions are poor fixes. Everything lasting a single or two Renewals does not promote diversity in equipment as the artifacts will quickly be consumed by Armageddon.
