Re: PVP Changes.
How about keeping things as they are now, until the magic changes are also done. I am sure the magic users would also like some "not as dangerous" time to learn the power of their abilities. Eventually they are likely to return to their main characters, when something happens with those changes. Th...

Re: PVP Changes.
How about a door and a key? I think it would be hard to disable all doors and similar "trap"-locations in the game, so they will remain. Besides, I think things are stable enough now to enable the movement stuns again. When that happens, there will be a common board post, though. But I think there ...

Re: Autohunting vs Autotracking
Mim: I think I just made things more confusing here. Usually I tend to just let Mirandus reply to AoP-related things, just so all the admin-info about these things come from one person, and that should be Mirandus. Sometimes I can't help myself... but this thread proves why letting only Mirandus rep...

Re: Underlying cause and proposed solution to broken trust
Kvator: We've discussed changing the death penalty several times before here on the forums, and there has been many ideas on how to adjust it to make PVP more fun. There are pros and cons with both. I tend to lean towards making it less harsh for PVP, but Amberlee just brought up what tends to be th...

Re: Underlying cause and proposed solution to broken trust
Mim: The bug in backstab only existed for about three days, and was unintentionally caused by the AoB team when working on something. (I don't know exactly what, you'd have to ask them directly). It was not bugged for a long time, and it is no longer bugged. We found out when a player was killed in ...

Re: Underlying cause and proposed solution to broken trust
Dan: I will continue to make the best and most fair decisions possible with the information I have at the time. I am very confident the rest of the admins also try their best to make this a game that is as fun and balanced as possible for all players. Do we get everything right every time? No, of co...

Re: Underlying cause and proposed solution to broken trust
Now that I understand your criteria for determining a restoration, I can agree that it is certainly superior for implementing consistent decisions regarding restorations than my suggestion. The only remaining issue is that it was not applied in this situation, unless I am misunderstanding something...

Re: Underlying cause and proposed solution to broken trust
Kelrhys: Here's my reply to your other concerns: I think your "whack-a-rule" statement could not be more wrong. I think we have a very good policy regarding restorations. It's simple, and most of the time not open for interpretation, and it ensures exactly what you ask for - consistency. When someon...

Re: Underlying cause and proposed solution to broken trust
The recent wizinfo scandal has inflamed and derailed everyone from the even bigger issue, which stems from Cherek's confusion over why people don't understand his comment in the State of the Donut address about Cassius going on a killing spree was a joke. I think one line in my State of the Donut p...

Re: Autohunting vs Autotracking
This is what the rules say: Using triggers to hunt another player or using a speedwalking path to escape player versus player combat will result in: 1st offense - Warning 2nd offense - Death without recovery For this "autotracking" to be an actual benefit in PVP you'd have to set up triggers that d...
