It would be a start, but there's all kinds of NPCs that just won't stop chattering unless they're dead. Those would still be problematic.

Don't worry about the room names, just insert place holders (e.g. r1, r2 ...) and clearly mark the important landmarks (e.g. banks, taverns, docks and forks in the road). Filling in room names is the part that requires wizard involvement as Cherek mentioned. Are these the same room IDs from gwc.gmc...

Gems are pretty to look at. Much more sparkly than coins. Many people collect various gems.. for various reasons. I believe there is someone hoarding Rubies ... *cough*Stern*cough* Also .. you can have jewelry made with them.. or I believe have certain items encrusted with them if you collect enoug...

I'd like conversation (quest stuff, etc) to stay but chatter to go. At the moment neither is consistently true. If pressed I'd rather just evict NPCs entirely than keep the status quo.

Yeah, I'm okay with JS in general but DOM is a large collection of things I'm too lazy to deal with. Maybe if I get bored one day I'll look at repurposing the dialogue window. What I was wanting to do was to copy some reference materials into it so that I could refer to them from wherever I'm playin...

Well, they're treated like a different kind of currency by the banks, and I know the gem shops will give good coin for them, but then they're kept by default, so it seemed like something was up.

(Before anyone gets upset, the title is a League of Legends joke.)

Do gems do something special that I've missed out on somehow? (If it's something I have to discover by quests/guild then just say so.)

I don't get why they're separate from coinage. Just for variety?
