Pfft! Back when I was a greenhorne we lost a third of our combat experience, a full third I tell you! And no reduced brute level either! General experience hadnt been invented and even the tiniest of orcs could kill the biggest champion with a single blow!

Re: Death Penalty Opinions
I dont see why the character's stats or experience need to capped at all while having the time limited death penalty applied to their stats. In the system I described earlier the actual death penalty applied to each stat would be derived from a snapshot of the character's amount of experience in eac...

Re: Death Penalty Opinions
I agree with Arcon that it would probably be best to base the temporary penalty on experience points rather than the actual stat value. The number of experience point unmodified by race would probably be best to use to in case someone switches races after dying. If an ogre died and then switched rac...

Re: changes to mechanics
Or more simply; make the ogre crush check if the ogre is already in combat when preparing an ogre crush. If not in combat then initiate combat, but if the ogre is already fighting the target then do not re-initiate combat. This simple check should save a lot of unnecessary code being executed as wel...

Re: changes to mechanics
To me it seems its the function 'Gosh_I'm_being_attacked_what_do_I_do?' in the NPC that becomes called every time Laurel starts preparing an ogre crush. In the case of the Bloodsea sailors they just call out for assistance and make their friend NPCs attack its attacker but in the case of Viridian he...

Re: Equipment Hoarding
The debate about having a limit or not on the number of any given artifact is not about having more or less magical items available in the game at any given time, its about there always being a _chance_ of finding a magical artifact as opposed to there being zero chance of finding the item at certai...

Re: Equipment Hoarding
I'd like to see a fourth option. 'Certain guilds end up hoarding weapons, not necessarily out of spite, but this still impacts other players negatively'. Guilds with active members who actively work on improving their guilds armoury will often end up collecting far more items than the guild needs, n...

Re: Awesome Imbuements
One of the first imbued items Zingil found was a strength imbued (faint) excellent halberd which was quite neat. And today he found a rust-red naginata with a spellcraft imbuement which would also be quite useful for a polearm using Ranger.

Re: It's awfully quiet
I agree with you Makfly. For various reasons I managed to spend a lot more time than usual in Genesis during October and the number of players awake were usually 30-50 rather consistently with quite a few players who appeared to be new to Genesis as well. Since the beginning of this month the number...

Re: Why are no knights playing?
No Knights active in the past two months?!
Hmm... maybe Zingil should stop using that special herb from Cadu. He could have sworn he has seen, spoken with and travelled with at least one Knight for several hours in the past two weeks.
