Academics were made before we got our relatively recent boost of spellcaster guilds, so, sure they could probably need some reworking to be a better school for players who want to move on from Academy to our more advanced magical guilds. Well, it certainly sounds like an ability nobody would use in its current state. I agree with that. Perhaps the simplest solution would be to just remove it? That way people wont be frustrated by it? Or, of course, removing the risk of making it worse, but like Chanele said, that may be too powerful...

I get the idea but, an immediate concern is: Do we really need more newbies with pick pocket skill, running around stealing from other newbies? I think that is a problem we have as it is, and having a bunch of stealthy thieving newbies (many with little knowledge of our rules) loose in Sparkle sound...

How about tweaking the mob holding the item instead? Make the items actual rewards for a job well executed, rather than having people slay them over and over and over and over and eventually just.. give up.
