Re: Web Client connection vs regular ones
Web client traffic happens over https (port 443) and is encrypted and signed using TLS. TLS is tricky to block without installing a new root certificate on all connected computers and then using a proxy. You can most likely create an application which allows you to translate websocket to tcp which ...

Web Client connection vs regular ones
This may be a dumb question, but I haven't been able to find the answer yet. So, the address to connect to the game from a regular client is mud.genesismud.org port 3011 - now, this port is closed at work. Still, it is possible to connect via the web client. How? Does it use a different port? Could ...

Changes to the Dunadain
Coming from the Ranger Recode thread: I think the Dunadain does need some changes, yes. Some questions arise, though: 1. Will all houses be good, then? Does it mean that the guild will change to a goodie one since the only ones who would benefit from being of a house are rangers? 2. Free to join? Do...

Re: Ranger guild recode ...
Please stay on topic. Further posts about MM will be deleted. G. Topic is recode of rangers. Comparing them with another guild within the same domain and that happened to be their enemies is not staying on topic? I understand that they were exclusive dunedains in the books but at least half if not ...

Re: Ranger guild recode ...
The rules of the Dunadain need a bit of rework too, at least in the wording. It states that only humans can be of the dunadain, and if by any type of magic you turn into something other than a human, you'd no longer be allowed in the guild.

Re: Keeping your titles and basing them differently ...
I personally take huge issue with harassment... This is an easy stance to take. No one here advocates griefing or harassment, but what's the definition in this new dynamic? 3 players at the bottom end of their mortal level team up to go after a myth. 1 dies. They fail. 3 die. They fail. Finally, th...

Re: Keeping your titles and basing them differently ...
I like this idea, It gives the opportunity for those who are smaller than an enemy to join up in an attempt to take retribution on him/her without such a huge potential loss. It increases the potential for PvP and could allow for some cool PvP specific mechanics to come into play. As for griefing, ...

Re: "attacks you"
When you enter a room and something attacks you, leave the room, <afocus> to cast a spell, go back to the room where the enemy is and <cast cheiropoto> You aren't fighting anyone. Even if the message you see when you enter the room is that () is attacking you. Fix so if something is attacking you, ...

Re: Keeping your titles and basing them differently ...
First of all, I like the innovative idea and welcome the trial period. Maybe it'll be something good, maybe it won't. Worth a try. For one, I do like the idea of having "reached" something (a mortal level) and keeping it. It reflects the work you put into a character and the actual time sp...
