Re: Pay to Slay?

I believe that everything was a bit easier when everyone was smaller and people didn't care about death all that much as you could easily recover in a day or two. There also wasn't such pressure on questing as you didn't need to do so many of them to have reasonable brute at reasonable mortal level.

Re: Pay to Slay?

So, with this idea I would be able to kill myself totally down to extremely pacifistic, join a new guild, pay X thousand platinum and instantly be back to whatever size and have an enormous amount of gxp? Sounds a bit too easy, doesn't it? Nope. Think of it more in terms of "save player state ...

Re: Pay to Slay?

I think death(I would prefer it to be wounds) should be 100% time based recovery. You die and it would take you 2 weeks to fully recover. You don't loose xp or bute. You don't gain anything on it like now. I think that would actually deter people even more. With the current system people know they'...

Re: Client for Genesis (Mac/Win/Linux) (Insomnia adventures)

Another idea is to simply add a trigger to all quest NPCs making them talk to you, informing of possible jobs and what not, as soon as you enter the room if you haven't done the quest before. Similar to what this Carlsan NPC in Sparkle does.

Re: Client for Genesis (Mac/Win/Linux) (Insomnia adventures)

The best thing would be to actually implement the "talk" function from Kabal globally. But we've strayed way off topic here (as usual).

Re: Client for Genesis (Mac/Win/Linux) (Insomnia adventures)

But, for quests... something I think would be really cool was if we have some type of marking for quest NPCs. You know like Diablo or WoW that has a question mark, or exclaimation mark, or whatever it is. So when you enter a room with an NPC who has a quest to give out, he is in a different color a...

Re: Client for Genesis (Mac/Win/Linux) (Insomnia adventures)

Zhar: I am talking about the price to _identify_ imbuements. Nothing else. My point was that if it only costs a platinum maybe a new player would consider that before starting to ask for the list, thus perhaps creating a sense of discovery instead of being handed a list right away. No experienced p...

Imbuements Discussion (split from Client for Genesis topic)

Well Zhar does have a point about the auction house. But Gruff has a point as well... imbuement list and link to maps are the things any new player, or old player returning, usually get from the newbie line as soon as they ask where something is or what X imbuement does. And the "discover it o...

Re: Racestat modifiers, 'ere we go again!

Perhaps abit uorthodox, but what if guilds had, let's say two specials thematically adjusted to fit certain stats? If you are a hobbit, you use nr1, if you are a goblin, you use nr.2 for best effect. How about just tie specials to weapon skills? Everyone could use slash/impale/crush/kick/whatever a...
