I've always thought the combination of different guilds related to a central theme would be a strong move. Centralized guildcouncil and shared guildracks, may prove to be better to than scattered single guilds. More centralized players means more avaiable gear and resources through collective effort...

Well, if new guilds are layman, race or crafting that works in conjunction with the already existing occ guilds, it can work. The first times it doesn't even need to zap the characters, just drop all his equipment in the room and put him in a prison (like the one in Calia or Sparkle).
