Hardcore Characters
When he returned (briefly) to the game a year or so ago, Mechwarrior came up with an interesting idea, perhaps gleaned from games like Diablo. His suggestion was that players create self-imposed "hardcore" characters that, when killed, were treated as dead and never played again. Would the...

Re: Initiative to bring back former players
Well, I would start by not deleting characters due inactivity. Newbies, I can understand, but after veteran, no character should be purged. Mercade changed the purge quite a while back. It no longer deletes characters who have achieved a certain age. I think that age might be 10 game days, but I ca...

Re: Initiative to bring back former players
I definitely like the idea. A while back, the Admin were very interested in having all players register an official email address that they could consent to allow the game to mail on occasion. If this were to happen, we could use models similar to those on established applications such as Facebook, ...

Re: Playerbase Statistics - 2009
Forum Users, The above note from the common board does not read clearly in a non-fixed type font. If you want to see it more clearly, I suggest you copy it, paste it into a word processing application, select all, and then change the font to a fixed-type font (Courier or Courier New, for example.) Playerbase Statistics - 2009
<t>Genesis Community,

At the beginning of each year, it has been my tradition to take stock of
the playerbase by analyzing the data we have collected via the Genesis
Census. At the beginning of this year, I did not have the time or energy to
make that happen. Now, however, ...

Foul-Smelling Savage Male Minotaur. Tall, athletic, good sense of humour. Likes - cigars, tesstos, drinking liquor, whips, classical music, warhammers, shields, long walks through battlefields, maces, goring and smashing. Dislikes - inferior races, sneaky rangerz. Would like to meet elves, hobbits,...

Re: Achievements
Correct, Rhynox. Achievements are not rank ordered. They are, rather, things you tick off a list. No one is the best at an achievement. You either have achieved it, or you have yet to achieve it.

Re: Achievements
For technical reasons most (but not necessarily all) achievements would force players to start from scratch the moment the implementation goes in. This would mean that for things like "number of kills" the hugest myth would start at zero just like a new player.
