Re: Guild Updates
Yes, wizards did code this way. I did it for example. And I was inspired by others who did that before me. And there were others who did it later too. Sad but true. Fact. Wizards are human and they do get influenced by their friends, unless they get locked in the cage and don't talk to anyone So, I...

Re: Ntell
...as I could just turn it off. So if it doesn't hurt me, and it would benefit others, then why not allow it? I missed that part. Though, if turning it off was an option, it basically becomes the newbie line anyway ... which we have. I suppose I would be fine with more relaxed rules for the newbie ...

Re: Ntell
I have to say, I have RL friends that play this (as some, if not most, do). I've been chatting with them over Skype, come across something I needed help with, and casually say "Hey can you help me with <this>." The response to such questions, even between very close RL friends, is "Su...

Re: Deconstruction of the never-ending MMORPG
Really? The big grind and disjointed quests are, in my opinion, exactly what this is. I guess what I'm getting at, and what annoyed me with WoW so much, is that I don't want to be a newbie in newbieville and complete this awesome quest where Boss X has a wicked cool special that lights the ground o...

Re: Deconstruction of the never-ending MMORPG
Much is true. Wonder if I got bored of WoW due to repeatively same mechanics all the time.. Or just that I had played it for to long.. I definitely got bored of WoW due to repetitiveness of mechanics. I played into some of the end-game raid content, but once I sat back and thought about it, I could...

Re: Game Rebooted, Repeatedly ...
Yes. What people need to do is stop using ip address numbers and always use mud.genesismud.org:3011. That hostname will stay the same across different machines. The actual numbers must change with location. So, as long as everyone sets their clients to log in to mud.genesismud.org at port 3011, the...

Re: The Battle of the Plains of Krynn
Also I think t would be of benefit to make it so that anyone from any guild can "free" a plain. To improve cycling and not have a stagnant situation were for example all the plains are held by the Stunties no DA's active, time to ignore the systems till the DA's wake up. Unclaimed plains ...

Re: Connection Refused?
Oh, lame (for all of us). I didn't realize it was a system-wide thing. I'll just wait patiently like the rest of everyone else then. Thanks Cherek

Connection Refused?
I can't seem to log in to Genesis...it seems that the connection is refused by the host?
I haven't changed anything since last night (when I was logged in just fine), did something else change?

Re: Guild Behavior
I agree with the OP for sure, and Celephias already mentioned the cause - Powerplaying. It exists everywhere, even in the so called "elite" roleplaying orientated guilds....That post got longer than I had intended, but I hope it makes sense. (no need to post that HUGE post twice :D ;) ) T...
