Re: Magic Resistance Improvements
No, it works exactly like AC. AC doesn't tell you when damage is reduced, you just notice that your hitpoints didn't go down very much from that last hit. This will work the same, only the last hit will have been a spell or dragon breath, or whatever. G. It sort of tells you by virtue of 'lightly b...

Re: Restart Genesis with more or less open source code
So Kiara, you don't want to contribute with code but rather doing the promotional side for the game. I have a suggestion if this is indeed a talent you have; What if the admin gives you a wizard for that role, and see how you do Before handling you that specialized administrative role as an arch? Y...

Re: Restart Genesis with more or less open source code
Tbh the wizards would probably get alot of people back if the favoritism bullshit stopped, they started to actually listen and PROPERLY explain stuff to players and not go "Oh I'm sorry but my code is uber mega complex and even tho it doesent work properly it still does" and perhaps take ...

Re: Restart Genesis with more or less open source code
I think one of the massive hurdles for potential new wizards is that you basically have nobody to ask, a documentation that is ancient, and extremely limited access to "real" code. I think quite a few people would find it fun to just play around with real code and test things out. It does...

Re: "unused" Descriptor
Totally reasonable idea, this. I've added "imbued" as an examinable adjective to all imbuements from now on. I just tested it and it worked fine. It'll be live for any imbuements spawned as of the time I write this note, but will not be globally applied until the next army. G. Nice! Thank...

Code: Select all
You killed <the dude>.
>get unusual items from corpse
>get peculiar items from corpse
>get exotic items from corpse
Get what?

Re: Why newbies have it hard in Gen
Etanukar definitely puts a good descriptor on what I was trying to get at. It allows the danger of Jhael attacking Etanukar on a 'kill wraith' command, but provides safety to some poor elf innocently wandering Ithilien while Etanukar is on a rampage. (or some other more appropriate scenario)

Re: Why newbies have it hard in Gen
Exactly. But maybe Cot can do something about that, so if kender == player, run attack-check function. Or something like that.:) He's clever Cotillion. I am glad you're not killing kenders. One of few people these days it seems.:) It may be worth placing a size restriction on it. In many cases, I t...

Re: Why newbies have it hard in Gen
Would you use it in your scripts if there was a kill command which did not attack npcs who are already in combat? Absolutely. A simple "are you sure you want to attack X"-check would do the trick. Similar to the one we have when you try to attack someone you remember. Actually it would ma...

Re: Kender XP
Just as a point of clarification, I understand that comparing grinding areas to a single 'boss' isn't exactly a great comparison. I was merely using that as an example to illustrate my point. Much like your comparison between Qualinost and Kobolds. I, personally, cannot speak to why Kendermore appea...
