Laurel wanted to become an Elemental Worshipper once ...

Laurel wanted to join the EW, so Guinevere appointed a meeting between Laurel (the Neidar) and Nygil (the BDA soldier) during a short ceasing of aggressive activities. Below is the summary of this meeting sent to Guinevere. Laurel never joined EW

Code: Select all

From : Laurel
Subject: Nygil
To : Guinevere
CC : Laurel
Date : Mon Aug 28 11:47:53 2000

Greetings,
I learned you as an intelligent and reasonable person,
and hope you will see this like it really was, not
like Nygil wants to put it.
He started with his problems with me frightening him
earlier with my axe or club, and then went over to
something he called role play. He said he would pay
much attention to this something, what was kinda
0 "role play" imho. The he started to ask me about
Krynn dwarves and we came to the point, where I helped
myself with my Clan info. The rest is shown in the part
below, where my notebook helped me register it.

"Then came the fury of the gods, angered by the arrogance
of the mortals, they tore the land asunder in what is now
known as the cataclysm. Famine and darkness spread
through the lands and Reorx no longer answered the cries
for help from his children. During these dark times, the
mountain dwarves betrayed the hill dwarves, locking them
out of the dwarven homeland of Thorbardin, leaving their
families to starve on the plains and be ravaged by the
wild beasts that appeared in these now decimated lands.
This lead to the Dwarfgate Wars, where dwarf fought
dwarf, and where many on both sides died.

For the first time in history, the Clans were split, and
the enmity between the hill dwarves and mountain dwarves
was of such hatred that it still survives today.

After the Dwarfgate Wars, the Neidar Clan scattered
across the continent, settling in rugged plains and
hills. Some made there way to a secure valley in Estwilde
which they settled and called Iron Delving.

For more information on the history of the dwarves, the
library in Palanthas is a fine source (even if it was
written for humans)."
You grunt.
Your tummy is a bit upset!
Hic!
Hic!
Hic!
Hic!
Nygil whispers: If you've never met any of them, how could you know how hideous
they are?
You say: do you know about the Dwarfgate Wars? After them the Neidar were split
all around plains
You say: only few went to Iron Delving
You say: I suspect they are because of this fact
Nygil burps rudely.
Nygil burps rudely.
Nygil whispers: Iron Delving is a place created by the wizard known as Arman to
create your guild.
Nygil whispers: It is not historically accurate.
You say: please, mail this to Arman and I am sure he will explain it to you
You say: I think I've heard enough about dwarves now ...
Nygil whispers: I know all about it.
You say: I'm sure
You leave your leader.
You say: have a good day
You smirk at the stupidity of tall folk.
I still remember how he blabbered about the importance of RP ... and continued to blabber about wizards and guild creation

Abrupt breaking of character is often hilarious as well as annoying.

Imagine suddenly reading something like that in the Dragonlance books:

DA: "What are you talking about, dwarf, you know you wouldn't even be here if it weren't for Wise and Hickman being drunk when they made you up. Now shut up or I'll tear out all the pages with you in them from this damned coffee-stained book!".
Dwarf: "Well, do that, but then that means we didn't even have this conversation."
DA: "Fine with me!"

Tolkien shouts: What do you mean Glorfindel shows up twice in the timeline? You dare question me?!?

*Tolkien punches you in the mouth.*
