Pay back is a bitch.
possible - it wasn't the case when Laurel was active, so I wouldn't know
still - someone started the "kill-retaliate game" and someone should be man enough to end it? but I guess mercy shouldn't be part of ogre RP ;)

Your environment is cloaked in darkness, yet you manage to see your surroundings clearly.
Looks like something that should be fixed.

No that means the room is naturally light but something else is making it dark..

Looks like some clever player found set of items that significantly debuffs most of the game population:
- area of effect type of debuff
- drastically lowers combat effectiveness in whole area
- targets cannot see, have move restrictions, restrictions in using items
- untaxed  and unblanced and I believe not intended

It is the role of clever players to find such things and role of administration to fix it.

Hmmm what are you talking about?
He used darkness, aka The oldest trick in the book.

Balanced by the cunning invention of the oil lamp.

Which part did you not understand? Doesnt it work like I described?
And "It has been always like that" is not a valid argument.
Darkness and infravision should be carefully limited.
Each of the effects single is OK to me, but those effect are too powerful when combined.

Rangers pay tax for that type of effect and it is seriously limited:
- single target
- skill checks
- possibility to evade the effect
- limited (short) time

Why cant I have unlimited angmar specials?
I want items that give me AOE angmar specials and of course untaxed

How many lamps do I need?

60 lamps ought to be enough.. Unless he uses the other secret AA special, "destroy light".
Opps I've said too much.. I'll shut up now. :|

I am not sure if you are aware that you sound ridiculous.
I do not know any other game that requires you to have more then one lamp to counter the possibility of meeting moving cloud of darkness.
And actually the exploit is not rare enough to ignore it.
Accepting it means you have to cope with it - indeed have 20 lamps or better become a cloud of darkness yourself if you want to be competitive.
What else do you need?
Macro for herbing, then robot to eat herbs in right combination to keep your skills (otherwise unavailable to your character) at superior guru.

Exploits have to be fixed - I do not want to play the dark cloud game.
Mind it - I do not care much about darkness or fighting other players being a monk.

I just think it is lame and it is an exploit unless it is taxed.
