also just a tip hopefully this is not to much. 3 s or 3 e will always take you out of forest reguardles of where inside the forest you are.

That's actually a good tip. I followed the advice here and carefully mapped. Constant "resets" are necessary to do this right.

I'm posting my map because AFAIK each maze is different for each player, so this information is useless to anyone else.

This thing is a bit tricky. Maybe someone can tell me what I'm doing wrong.

There are three types of trees: high pines, leafy birches, and old heavy oaks.
There are three types of bushes: dark green, light green, and green ones.
There are three types of flowers: anemonies, white roses, and lillies.

If we say:

High pine = P
Birches = B
Oaks = O

Dark bushes = D
Light bushes = L
Green bushes = G

Anemonies = A
White Roses = W
Lillies = Li

The combinations should be...

Code: Select all

PDA
PDW
PDLi
PLA
PLW
PLli
PGA
PGW
PGLi
BDA
BDW
BDLi
BBLA
BLW
BLLi
BGA
BGW
BGLi
ODA
ODW
ODLi
OLA
OLW
OLLi
OGA
OGW
OGLi
So there should be a total of 27 rooms, or am I completely wrong?

Now, if I've mapped connections to all of these rooms, I should be able to find the guy, shouldn't I?

So far I haven't been able to. Are there any mistakes here?

My guess would be that each room ought to be connected to 3 others.
And in the end when all strings are attached, you will find your way.

Each room actually has 4 exits as in the Forest going back in the same direction you came from goes to a different room. So in each one of those rooms you need to travel in every direction and you'll find the hut.

But if I physically visit each room by re-entering the forest, shouldn't I be able to find it? Or do I have to visit all 27 without leaving the forest to find him?

The hut is actually in a 28th room with an exit south (at least for me) and an exit in.

Geez, it only took about 10 hours, but I found him. I'm going to treat myself to a pizza this evening.

It's not retarded. It's actually awesome since you can't write a walkthrough for it, it really feels like a quest, you get a true sense of accomplishment after finishing it etc. etc.

Sadly, the reward doesn't reflect that.
Time is precious. Waste it wisely.
