I read the book at their place but I had some questions that I feel aren't too indiscreet.

1. Is there any kind of progress and actual invention as you grow in size or do you just join, are eligible to train/build stuff, you build everything available to carry it around and that's it before you even finish gathering signatures for Nikolon?
2. Do they get to choose surname or are maybe given one?
3. Are the gadgets useful in battle, outside of it, only flavour?
4. It counts for racial only, right?
