In the Calian waters, there is a seaweed forest. What is this for? Does it have a purpose, or is it just chilling there?

Some herbs only grow in dark places..

Is that the only thing it is for?

I would also like to know what purpose the seaweed serves.
Can we powder it and use it in ice cream production?

The forest itself has purpose. There are some herbs at the bottom and the sea houses the quest animals you need to find for the gates to Thalasea.
