Progress on the imbuement system is coming along very nicely! Lavellan continues to dazzle with his speed and excellence as a coder, and he has produced most of the "infrastructure" that will help govern how imbuements work in the game. Huge thanks to him for this! If I had done it myself, this post would have come somewhere in the Summer of next year.
The imbuement system will be very much thematically tied to "goings on" in and around Sparkle. A deep lore will exist structurally in the imbuement system itself, as well as in the story that governs the whole affair. To support this story, and in conjunction with the needs for more newbie-friendly content near Sparkle, I've been cooking up a dungeon that will:
- Provide context and storyline for the imbuement phenomenon
- Include over 100 rapid-spawning npcs for small players to grind
- Include 4 or 5 new quests that tie-in to the imbuement system
- Have lots of amusing easter-eggs for players who enjoy looking for that sort of thing.
- Fully support the magic map.
