What does/should a layman signify about the character

I have seen it used in MMOs before it was in the Noob.

And before that in MUDs and other online rpgs.
I know the Noob is taking everything from different MMOs, it just makes quots much easier and funnier. The Noob rocks. :)

I don't know why they are not just converted to a craft guild.
I would rank the utility they currently offer in line with Smiths, Gardeners & Mariners.
