grins* why all that thiving.. ???

Tyberus is EASY to spot scale on..

Armours and guards = no scale.

Guards and armours = scale..

Booger, I think you're awesome ! I actually read this thread :D Yeah, as soon as the admin gets over it's paranoia and actually lets the wizards look at the code and fix it, things will get done much faster :D

Get the 2 handed mithril club from Nomog.
It has a built in emote "smash".
So drop that club in the same room as an AA, or give it to them & the new command stops them being able to access their smash special until they get it out of inventory.

Minor, but funny.

Might work on their NPCs, haven't tried, if it did would make attacking the guild a lot easier.

Nice thread!
Lot of fun reading it.

I recall some bugs from the past.
Getting poisoned from the Nazgul was quite dangerous.
But those days people had a lot more hp than today.
So one could survive for some period of time that allowed you to take a trip to Re Albi (Cadu).
There was this well outside the orc school.
In the well you were supposed to drop coins. A wishing well.
But you could also 'drop poison in well' a few times and all poisons were gone.
I think that one is fixed many moons ago.

Mergula had gloves adding to DEX.
If the gloves broke, and I think Mergula himself broke items, you kept the extra dex.
So wearing gloves, have them broken, and wear a new pair was very rewarding.
But those days armageddon came within 5 hours (or so) so it was hard to abuse that one to many times.

Ah, yes, the wishing well. Mergula also gave poisons back then, if I recall correctly, which could be dropped there. Or was it broken arms that could be dropped?

Re Albi was funny. There was a casino, which was made honestly enough so that a player could earn money there; I recall a friend of mine going there with two huge sacks, cigars (don't remember if they were Re Albi cigars or from somewhere else, but they reduced encumebrance) and make some nice money regularly. You couldn't do it very fast, but in general there was a steady flow of platinums, faster than you could kill/sell anywhere else in the game at that time.

The one drawback was, as far as I remember, Re Albi didn't have a bank then, so he had to take a ship to Sparkle to deposit his winnings every now and then.

Before my time then. The bank was, as I remember, always south of the general store.

There was a stick on the ground.
One could hold the stick, throw it (w)est, and call for the scrubby dog -:"Fetch"
And the dog would run west and get the stick to bring it back.
This also worked for players, and newbies were often made fun of by calling -:"Fetch" and they ran to get the stick.
Finally someone found out that -:"Fetch" worked into the store room of the shop.
So -:"Fetch" a player into the store room. He grabbed all the stuff and went out and sold it to the shop.
Then rince and repeat.

Bildor also managed to pull off a progressive betting spree which made him the RMC pres ahead of Monika. There was no table limit so if you lost you could double your bet and keep doing so until you one. At which point you made double your original stake. You just have to have enough coins to cover a run of bad luck, which gets expensive quickly. He made a few thousand plats and was discovered by the wizzies but got to keep the cash. A few thousand plats was LOT of money back then. Not sure if they fixed this but guess they did put a limit maybe or just influence luck on progressive betters.
Wow! A martingale strategy... the creativity of players never cease to amaze me
