Hello!

This is maybe an old question.
I know I have seen this before quite a few times.
I forgot the answer if I ever got it.

Some times you get a weird and odd message.
Probably someone else in the game did something, and I get the message that was directed to someone else.

You remove your long elegant scarf and flash a charming smile.
You misjudge the human and your attack goes astray.
You swing the jagged black scimitar harmlessly through the air.
You feel ready to use Mercenary tactics again!

I certainly did not remove any scarf or flash a smile.

It's a broken item. Leave a 'bug' report on the item if you have one or a sysbug.

But I did not have the item.
No scarf what so ever in my inventory.

It seems to me that the game somehow displayed a message that was meant for someone else, for me.

It is quite possible, sounds like the gentlemen's club scarf uses TP in some place where it should have used find_player().
