It was probably before ores showed up with sledgehammers. For axes it's not even a brainstormer, rust-red, blunted and MBB outperform dual anything, especially when you're hitting bigger mobs.

I've been an axe user since '98 and am totally fine with the choices available (mind you I cant even use Soul Reaper, so my choices are even more limited). I think your ranting is misplaced.

But goblins and their sick combat stat modifiers is a whole different story... :-)

It doesnt really matter which axe I wield coz I cant hit shit with it ;)

But I usually use one handers and if I cant find a decent one I just switch to clubs. But then again I just tank, drink and tank :)

It doesnt take too long to find a usable axe.
