Gorboth, thats cause 90% of the newbies want to play elf, that doesent mean its even close to balanced atm. So its funny that their favourite race is shyte (I blame peter jackson for the influx of elf-filth)
Hell most of em dont even get past adept.

Um ... no, Draugor ... 32% of the newbies want to play elf. Exatly 32% of them. Not even a majority. The majority of newbies choose human. Even when I post the numbers, the percentages, and such ... I just ... I am speechless.

Think it was pretty interesting to see the numbers, none of it is too surprising though. The key word in what Draugor said is "Newbie" I'd wager a ton of those humans are really alts who know that its best to go human and knock out quests first then race change.
Even so, I still think humans would be the top choice, lots of people want to be a "Better" version of themselves. Cool stats!

Its what I gathered aswell, alot of them are prolly second generation chars that have realized what a shitshow elves are for warriors. Guessing alot of them was thinking... Legolas. When they realized that aint how it works, they went human so they can atleast do the quests and not be terribad

I'd like to see those numbers from before SoHM opened, because I have a distinct feeling that the gnome population boomed after it opened.

How many ogres were counted within last 7 days? If I remember right human was the go to base race for them.

Who would willingly pick his/her own race in a fantasy setting where elves are cool (AND yummy from what we hear from the east)?

I was only interested in the six base-classes for race, not the subraces such as Kender, Drow, Ogre, Minotaur, etc.
As for the go-to race to be an Ogre, they are all absolutely equal. I made sure that that guild flatlines out the base-race stat mods before applying the ogre mods. Ogres are all equal regardless of their base rase.
