I don't know what the status of that is these days - Benton isn't still around, is he?
G.
No, he is not around.
I had a talk with a Terelwizard some years ago, who stated the code was to hard to fix to todays standards.
She tried to bring him back, but there was to much to do there unfortunately.
Maybe it is possible to bring him back? The question is if it is worth the effort.
The Tanto was as Gorboth stated back then the best dagger in the game.
There was a 'small' query among the players to suggest a cool weapon for Benton and it was a smallish and good friend to me in Gladiators who suggested the Tanto.
He was from Finland, but unfortenately he had to go and make his military service, and that was the end of his Genesis days. If I only could remember his name. I think it was the same name as Kevin Kostners character in 'Dancing with wolves' has.
Another 'request' back then came from Mercade who needed a name for his new dwarven racial guild.
The name 'Rockfriends' came from another very cool Gladiator.
Gunther.
There were Puck, Akkinas, Torment, Gunther, Wulfgar and Mim in that order who joined a most useless guild.
Useless as the axes were totally crap. The best axe was from the ghost on Carisca.
And charge was a one time per battle special. You could only use it to start a fight. :p
Never the less, we had lots of fun despite all that.
Back then Lyden in Tyr, was considered a tough boss.
Not so anymore.
The toughest were I think the black dragon, Mergula, Benton and the Demon Boss in Telberin.
Not the three inside the cave, but the one lurking on the roof in the city.
He broke up teams, threw darkness balls, and was a major pain to fight.
Today I assume he would be a nobody.
Then came Moria.
Everybody were extremely tense what it would be.
Mim was in a team with Hunter, Wiper, Gundif and a few more and we went to Moria the same day it opened.
We found the stairs down and there he was.
The Balrog of Moria.
Three minutes later he was a puddle on the ground.
Rogon (the creator of Moria) came crying and Balrog was uppgraded a LOT that very same day.
As Hunter was a big monk of Kaheda, he took 'a belt made of Balrog's whip' as his token, and all the team members got one of those belts.
(The council in Kaheha was given an item of his own choosing to give out to a few selected friends. Nini gave me 'Boots from the black dragon of Terel'. Garnet gave me a 'nose ring'. And Hunter, as said, a belt made from the Balrog's whip. I think that was quite a cool thing in a guild, but someone did not, and those items were removed from the game)
