Cherek, pick up the gauntlet. We all want some fighting not just vain discussions. Either allow us to pk in Angmar and Minas Morgul or create a tournament so we find out who's Number One.

IMHO.

PS. Don't remove my posts because I think thoroughly before I say something on the forums.

What I was suggesting was some sort of rule that would punish someone that
kill 5 people within a week.

To login with a HUGE mortal and try to kill every player they meet should be
punished in one way or another.

Something that would help alot would be a changed % loss of PvP death.

Lower it by 70-80 % so a player can die in PvP battles 3-4 times and lose
the same as he/she does in 1 player death now.

You suggest a max limit of 5 people a week regardless of the situation? And if someone does, he/she should be punished, leaving the cap at 4 players. Even in wars.

Let the Uber myths kill as many as they like for fun when they get bored.

Happy?

War is War.. 5 was just a number out of nowhere.

I just want bored people to not login at all - instead of going on a rampage playerhunt
and sending 10-15 people to Lars in an armageddon time frame.

If you're into punishment, I suggest the culprit to do the extra... coding, for instance additional task from the immortals.

This thread is about additional rules and regulations to playerkilling, but its easy to get the notion that its more about protective and punitive measures against enemies that are much larger than other players, as if its imminent for some reason, maybe rooted in some ingame actions as of late.

First, we need to investigate the rules about pvp in the most common settings REGARDLESS size differences, namely "scirmish/random kills" and maybe "kills in wars", and as shining through some of the posts here, what role do the difference in size play in it? What about unfair advantages not through size but numbers?

Being slain by a HUGE player is not fun - it's a gank.
Being slain by a team is not fun - it's also a gank.

Both are bound to happen in any wars as it's pretty much the norm, and some guilds are honed to be most effective in groups by design, which warrants even more of the same gank behaviour.

Most fights in Genesis by my understanding happens when the cards are stacked heavily in favour for one opponent, and that's often the nature of PvP in general.

A thumb of rule is, a fair meaningful fight...Isn't.

By the way, there are HUGE players killing tons of random newbies and smaller (relative) players atm?

Of course it's about protective measures because of recent things (BDA/RDA stuff).

This topic is gold (when you read it simultaneously): https://www.genesismud.org/forums/viewt ... 778#p22778

Same player who now want pvp restrictions wrote for example:
Wolverine wrote: Genesis need some more pfighting..
Wolverine wrote: Lets make genesis Pvp.. im gonna hunt people down from now
Same person who wrote this
Draugor wrote:there should be a rule against this especially considering how insane the size differences are.
used to write that:
Draugor wrote:TBH size havent been the deciding factor for ages now, guild and gear is way mor important, a hero BDA/Blademaster with Gigantic broadsword will most likelly kick the crap out of most champ sized members from other guilds. But thats cause there is so much fucled up and insane gear thats easy as hell to obtain
(Yea - few years passed, but if I remember right Morr and Fluff were HUGE already back then + they were MM's that were not balanced yet).

Pure gold.

It's hard to disagree with some points ("bored griefers" for example) of course, but it's kind of funny to see how the point of view is shifting in different circumstances :)

P.S: Have to appreciate Kas. Even if he's writing tons of BS he seems to stick to it at least :D

Kvator, what you seem to not take in, and I know its hard to understand when I point to the insane differences, we're talking [number removed] average, thats a gear question, but we've got people that are [number removed]ish average above in quite a few cases now. And with guildpowers and especially casterguilds beeing so out of whack atm, some sort of rule against just randomly nuking people "cuz funneh" would be a good idea.

I am not neglecting the fact that it's a problem (imho pvp killing should be changed to award the killer instead of punishing the victim), but it was a problem already back in 2014 (even bigger with imba MM's back then).
