Another thing that came to mind, how about changing block back to how it used to work, meaning
that to be able to start block, you had to be in combat.

I have to say I see lots of potential abuse, if combat does not have to be initiated before blocking.

A team of 5-6 seconds can team up, and block someone at a major npc and just hope that the npc will do
the damage for them, especially if you catch someone wounded and bouncing to finish a npc of, going in
and blocking someone who is already terribly hurt and fighting a dragon or a powerful npc, means the
player would almost 100% sure die if they are forced to stay in the room for 20-30 secs...

Well thats just my twisted mind working here, but thats something I did not like much when they new block of Knights
were introduced, I think combat should be a requirement for blocking to be start-able.

Let's hold of any discussion of the mechanics of block abilities until you've actually gotten a chance to see how it works next Armageddon. Again, this kind of information assumption and dissemination is the incorrect "common knowledge" stuff that I wrote about before.

Regarding your specific example though, if 5-6 seconds got together to hunt and kill someone, and they blocked someone like that, it doesn't seem like an abuse to me. Looks like it would be working as it should. Maybe one should be careful about pissing off 5-6 people and then going solo?

He would, but he's probably scared a myth will kill him for it. ;)

Re: Makfly, from reading Petro's note, the MM's revamp will have different spells or abilities, PoT will be revamped, and the elementals occ. I just piled it all together and considered them 3 new spellcasting guilds.

Re: Megarius, if you're teamed with a couple guildies or people, you can use the block for strategic retreats and for trapping enemies within boundaries of your choosing. If I were teamed with friends, knowing most players in the realms wouldn't hurt me, I'd block a lowbie's retreat to save his life. Global empowerment doesn't necessarily mean myth pkilling buffet. Think outside the box. While you're at it, maybe carry a few smoke bombs with you.

Loving the changes..
Super work Petros and co.

On the Mercs getting better block than others through adaption.
The fact that it is named Global block would suggest that it is the same for everyone across the board.
Why should a merc be better blocker than an RDA or a Neidar?

Looking fwd to testing it out.

They said block is a skill you can train, global skills can be trained extra as a Mercenary so they will be better.

But only if they sacrifice other combat skills to raise block.

You can't train it, if there isn't a Merc trainer for it, and so far there have been no indication that there will be coded a trainer for it.
So it's not like the Mercenaries get the option to get Sup Guru in Block automatically.

That is why I say Fael-thas could be a good trainer

Just having read the common board, I guess I shouldn't be suprised Ogres got screwed over.

I have to ask though, will the spellcasting guilds that have crowd control spells have similar troubles learning how to block?

Ogres already have uber block..
Its hardly getting screwed over.
Knights do not get anything extra either.
Good point about the casters tho.
Only ones possibly getting screwed are DA's who should have got dfear back.
