msmith@AMD:~$ who f

Constantly typing Genesis commands into the command line prompt when I'm working. While "who" usually returns information, its not exactly what I'm expecting.

I'm constantly typing who, look, and vitals..

Sometimes when I accidently type who -- i'll try to pretend its part of what I was saying... creating a sentance starting with the word who... to make it look like I just hit return too quickly on my keyboard.

:who
:doesn't think that.. right?

and Gen players who also do it while talking to me on msn -- I usually will come up with some line back. Ie they type vitals
and ill say You're in very bad shape. You should do something about that.

or.. when they type look... I type back some made up room description.

Sorry, wrong window!

I did that just some day ago. More of your typical alt-tab mistake, but it was funny because I typed a whole bunch of Genesis commands into MSN before I realized. The funny part is I happened to list all those commands into the MSN window of an old friend who played Genesis some ten years ago (of all people), and he had no idea I was still playing.

"That sounds like Genesis.... is that game still around? And are you STILL playing?!?" was the reply.

I almost convinced him to try again but I think I failed in the end sadly. :( He did sound a little curious to have his old char resurrected though... so who knows. Maybe he will get curious enough.

So "accidently" typing Genesis commands on MSN, and "accidently" signing your RL mails with Genesis name and titles could possibly be a good way to advertise. :)

Gorboth: Maybe you should consider changing your real name to something starting with a G as well. Then you dont need to worry. George perhaps? or... Gandalf... or something.

You whisper privately with someone, instead of simply turning around and talking.

You earn double points when its out of character.
The preceding collection of words was presented by Strider's Player.
Any meaning you ascribe to them is most likely due to lucky happenstance or your misinterpretation.

If you'd prefer Strider's opinion, you'll probably have to ask for it in game.
