Calian Warriors and Monty Python

While doing the Water Seed quest at the Crystalline Palace I caught this:

Code: Select all

You follow the small path between the shrubberies. As you enter this shady spot, you hear a faint 'ni' echoing somewhere among the trees.
Well played, wizard.

Back in the days Calian could 'cni' someone. Not sure if it was re-implemented during their recode.

It's an emote. Get over yourself, princess. Not like we are flinging poo or hexing people.

I think AA used to have a SCARE emotion.
That had some damage in it.
I am pretty sure Rage killed someone with it, creating a stirr afterwards.

Also the Rockfriend BEARHUG killed someone when a big dwarf (not Mim) hugged a newbie if I remember right.

'Scare' is still a way to initiate combat. Design wise its meant to be combined with sneak/hide to increase effectiveness, but 'someone' decided to make initiating combat with special attacks the same as ordinary attack, prompting the line "x attacks you!" which ofcourse also revealed before scaring, making it worthless, but taxable.

Funny story, rangers can still brawl from hidden. Brawl also ignores stun.

Its almost like 'someone' are going out of their way to make life more miserable for baddies.. crazy, eh?
