Guild entrypoint

Post by Kas » 02 Jul 2008 21:47

Greetings.

I really dont see the problem with guilds that is deemed exotic not having an
entrylevel option for anyone who wishes to become a full member of said guild.
Lets take the Morgul Mages for example, what if they had this
'everyone_can_join' entrypoint embedded into their guild?
Entrylevel seekers could have an own small guildhall separated from the rest of
the tower, with some skills and features made to correspond with the daily
duties of the current seekers of the tower. Of these, the Nazgul could draw
their recruits into training using inbuild mechanisms viewable by fullmembers
of the guild to see the recruits effort and activitylevel.

Since they are separated, they are not yet a part of the real guild, but its a
start which allows a codewise support made for working towards full membership
of the mages. Applications could be unecessary, and a mage could rather task
their seekers with regular tasks right away, testing them and monitoring them
at the same time as the seeker feels more included in the process _from the
beginning_.

This entrylevel seekerguild/step is treated as a crafter guild or a simple
layman, or third-part occguild while enduring the scrutiny of the mages and
climbing the ladder of experience and expertice.

Nomatter how exclusive this guild is ment to be, I firmly believe that
entrypoint options to eliminate or partly eliminate applications does nothing
but strenghten the guilds in question with the more flow of fresh blood to
select from.
