I believe the idling period can reach a bit over an hour
nowadays. However, after that you are kicked out, not
LD. The problem is that it is easy to abuse LD to keep
equipment with them (let's not forget Zin doing that for
days in order to keep silvanesti shields and crystal axes
with him).

I sympathize with you and all those who play from work,
but I really doubt something like 12 hours LD would be
ever implemented. You should just create a trigger to log
in and disconnect every 30 minutes if you are forced to
meet a boss (personally I gem back home to idle once he
appears).
