Rewards.

Greetings All,

I wanted to run an idea passed you all about implementing some kind of reward
system in-game for different actions performed.

I was thinking that actions (perfomed by characters) that benefit the game,
could be somehow rewarded, as a means to applaud such efforts.

Actions included could be e.g. filling up newbie-boxes, or often guiding
newbies around.

Perhaps a list could be agreed upon, which actions should be worth rewarding,
and then we create 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place, lets say every second week and
reward these players with some quest xp, possibly x2 of the amount given for
the wednesday 'kiosk'-quest.

How to decide who has done what and measure the effect could be tricky, but if
I take the example of the newbie box as a base, different items e.g. would be
valued differently.

For a newbie, low weight, powerful (in relative terms) items would be most
beneficial. Thus, such items donated would yield more points. A heavy enchanted
suit of armour, might be an excellent item, but little use for a newbie (in
terms of personal usage).

I was thinking of Bale the other day, and once he understood (and one got
passed that detail) that killing younglings is not good for the game, I found
his presence in the game entertaining. He added a authentic spice with his
roleplay and behaviour.

Such actions could also be rewarded. In this case perhaps a voting office could
be created in Sparkle, where players bring their characters every second week
and vote (if they want to) on character actions that would be hard to measure
with game code.

So, very basic idea, but it would be intersting if you all could give me a hand
and tune it, to make it into something fun and positive, in terms of game
experience for everyone.

Sincerely,
Beregond's player
