Fellow Genesis Enthusiasts,

One month ago, I announced that today would be the day to officially
launch Phase 1 of promotion. I am thrilled to announce that we have met
all our development deadlines and are fully a go for that to happen. So,
without further ado, let it be declared:

IT IS NOW OFFICIALLY TIME TO PROMOTE THE GAME HOWEVER YOU ARE ABLE!
=======================================================================

To facilitate this process, we have set up a link on the right menu of
the official webpage called "PROMOTION" that provides you with ideas and
materials for promoting the game. Here is the link, for ease of reference:

The website discusses two main avenues for promotion right now. One is
a page listing numerous *easy* things that everyone can do without much
effort at all. The second, a "Paper Campaign", is something that will
involve a bit more time and effort, but stands to really pay off if we
get it done properly. A taskforce of Genesis volunteers was formed over
the last few weeks and, at nearly 20 members, will be working hard to take
on this task. But do not let them work alone. Anyone can be a part of
this taskforce! I hope you all will.

One of the most rewarding things, too, is to know if your own efforts are
paying off. We have fully integrated the website with Google Analytics
which gives us the ability to see on a day-by-day basis how many hits
are generated from every major city and town in the world. So, if you go
out and promote in your area, please let me know! I would love to be able
to share with you the success you have helped generate with traffic to
our site. Do not hesitate to ask me for info about results in the places
you have been promoting. I'm only too happy to give reports!

THIS IS IT, MY FRIENDS! It is time to go all-out. Genesis' future will
rise or fall based on what we do right now, all together, with the best
of our energy and sustained effort. Do not wait for others to be the ones
to make it happen! I urge every single person who has called this game
home over the years to take on this challenge and do everything they can to
share Genesis with the world. We can do this!

My daughter mentioned on the tear off tabs, if you pull one off, it looks like people are already interested and it might draw more attention. Just a thought.

I guess it doesn't bother you, that when trying to check previous weeks' rankings you get or was there some other intention behind deleting my posts?

Hi Laurel - I saw some of your posts about this in the website thread so maybe they were just moved and not deleted. Also here is what Gorboth posted when he announced the rankings being on the website 3 days ago:

"Rankings page is now linked to the actual website in the "Players" section. It has some glitches, but at least provides the information. (i.e. renegade perl script lurking at the bottom beneath non-functional links.)"

Perhaps the previous weeks aren't linked to the website but maybe next week there will be a working '1 week ago' link.

I am finding I am liking the website and promotion art more and more. Initially I was somewhat ambivalent to it but I am starting to see how it reflects the vintage-ness of Genesis. Thanks to everyone who contributed to making it happen!!

Wait till you see the newest art Loubet has just finished creating. It will be used as the backdrop to the in-game client (the current backdrop was just a placeholder, and the same art that is on the promo posters.)
