Hello Donut Dwellers!
Stern walked up to me today, looking a bit teary-eyed. He told me his zombie
roast is nearly two-thirds devoured, and he's worried it isn't going to last
much longer. When I politely suggested that he take some eating breaks, he
looked at me as if I was a total idiot, handed me this odd parchment, and
headed back to his workroom (where loud munching ensued.)
The parchment was a note from this Ebenestus character. He had written to
Stern to let him know that he was very satisfied with the number of helpers
he has had, and given that he has not been shown any new races for the last
half-week or so, he has begun the process to conclude his affairs. It seems
he plans to pack up his things and depart from Sparkle sometime during the
evening of Monday, December 16th.
So, I guess there you have it! Looks like the event will be over in exactly
one week from now. Stern keeps shouting at me (between mouthfuls) that I
need to remind everyone that the top THREE collectors in the two main
categories of "count" and "first-finds" will be given awards and titles
at the end of the event. As you may recall, you can to see who is in the
lead in the Necromancer's tent.
We'll see how it all shakes out in one week!
G.
Mmmmmm ... pie ...

I, too, thought we had longer. Been working on recovery first. Almost done, then was going to get into it.

This note is the first direct reference to Necromancy.
While it was clear from the get-go that Ebenestus was most likely a necromancer, it seemed as though great pains were made to keep this fact concealed. Under the guise of research on anatomy we were asked to collect these necrabellums.
Not that I think it was any great secret, but I just thought it worth pointing out that it is very clearly stated in this note that Ebenestus is a necromancer.

I hope they come up with some nice neutral title. I refuse to show a title stating that I helped a necromancer.

I was trying to make him interested in biology instead and to stop with all the necromancy.

Ah yes, the blissful ignorance of anti-necro factions! You were all effectively bought with trinkets to further the aims of necromancy! SHAME ON YOU!

At least this is what you were led to believe.
