Ride on, Cherek!

Code: Select all

Denizens of the Donut,

A true star has sunk beneath the hills tonight to shine on different fields.
It is with a heavy heart that I have accepted Cherek's resignation from the
Genesis Administration, leaving behind his responsibilities as Archwizard of
Domains. This has been his second Admin post, following his very fruitful and
excellent service previously as the Playerarch.

I do not exaggerate when I say that without Cherek, the game would not be where
it is today. For the last two years, he has been the primary driver of energy
in the wizard world. I will always remain grateful for his tireless enthusiasm
and hard work when many wizards like myself were too consumed with RL affairs
and distractions to do our jobs reliably at his side. He has really held the
place together in more ways than one.

Though he will remain in an assistant role for the AoP team, he will now be
freed up to focus on his own RL interests, which have blossomed significantly
in the past few months, and now demand his full attention. We will always be
glad to see his friendly and helpful face on the who-list, but can now expect
that it may become a less regular sight. Hard work such as his warrants a
generous and cheerful sabbatical, and we now entrust him to these new horizons
with the best of wishes and much gratitude for all he has done here.

The AoD position will, for the time being, fall to myself. I will accept your
pity and prayers.

Thank you Cherek! Don't be too much a stranger, now!

G.

Thank you Cherek for all you did for the realms! Like Gorboth said dont be a stranger :)And also thank you Gorboth for filling the position.

We should remember and thank all our wizards for the work they put in the game.

Oh no.
Is this temporary?
Is the world going to crumble now?
When I first came here, there was Cherek and he was THE Wizard.
It always seemed like he was in charge..

I find myself dumbfounded.

I suppose, though, he has indeed earned a vacation, like you said. Still shocking.

Also, gorboth, kudos for taking on all the extra responsibility.
I hope it doesn't become a source of too much stress. :)

Gorboth can take it. He likes people yelling at him.

Infact, he kinda needs it, I am starting to suspect.

Much Kudos to Cherek --- your contributions will not be forgotten.

Cherek, I cannot thank you enough for everything you've done for me and all of the players of Genesis. Your efforts have not gone unnoticed and the difference you've made in Genesis as Arch of Domains. I hope that whatever real life things are going on, that life only goes up from here for you. :)

Thanks Gorboth and everyone else for all the kind words. It wasn't an easy decision, but I think the right one. I always nag about how the most important thing a wizard need is time, energy, and motivation, and since I feel I don't have enough of those three right now, this was the logical thing to do. I am not leaving Genesis though, and I will still be part of Mirandus' AoP team, so you won't get rid of me completely!
