I experienced this problem in America, as well. I'm having it sent via some UK friends, and will reimburse them for the cost of the magazines and postage.

Cool! Thanks for sharing that. So Lewis pitched it back in 2014 the first time, I did not know that. In a way it was probably good it was rejected then, since the timing was much better now, and probably became a better and more positive story too.

In the PC Gamer article, when you get a chance to read it, there is a segment titled "END OF DAYS." In that segment is the following quote:

This was the beginning of Genesis's dark age. Cooper recalls this nadir: "The toughest period in the game was probably from around 2005 up until 2013. World of Warcraft came out around 2004, and created this new opportunity for people who wanted to live alternative lives online, which is what people had been doing with Genesis since the early '90s. We saw a steep decline, and 2012 was our lowest point ever. That was when we really had existential thoughts, like, "Are we going to be able to continue?" The lowest point was when I logged on and I did the so-called 'who-list' which tells you who else is on, and it said "You are alone in the realms." I was the only player logged on. That only happened one time, but it was kind of an incredible moment for me, and I thought, "Wow, this could be the end."

I decided to look that day up. Behold ...

Ugh ... I still get a dull emotional chill when I look at that graph and remember how it felt to be there. We must not take for granted how far we have come. Our game is in great shape now, and here is a nice graph for comparison. These are the numbers from Thursday, the day the article came out:

For everyone still looking for a physical copy of the issue, the back issues link that Gorboth posted on Aug 27 now has it for sale for $13.99 including shipping to US. I just place my order, woohoo!!! It looks like the publisher will ship to continental Europe and most of the world for a fee as well.

That's great news Ckrik! I got my copy today (Lewis, the author of the article was kind enough to send me a copy) and while it looks cool in the digital version, it's something else to hold it in your hands. Very cool, and I recommend all of you to get a physical copy if you can.

Indeed. I got a copy to frame and hang in my future office. I intend to enjoy every puzzled look from the finance types that will stroll in.

WSJ, WSJ, Economist, FT ... PC Gamer?!?!?!?!?!

I'm going to do it, too!! Except, I've been getting strange looks from visitors to my office all along for ... well ... lets just say not every church has one of these in their building. ;-)
