I played Genesis for three years with Telnet. No triggers or anything except the 30 in game aliases.Aristos wrote:

I remember doing the same thing in another mud when I was 16, and that all day standing up in front of a terminal in the school libraryarcon wrote: I played Genesis for three years with Telnet. No triggers or anything except the 30 in game aliases.

When I started playing in the day, the school ran their machines on Windows 3.11. It was a bitch playing like that, but it was the only way one knew.
When I first saw a client I was blown away. To this day I still swear by my good old Zmud.

Back then I had no money for Zmud, so I used Gmud... It was good enough, but when I finally got Zmud, and then Cmud, I could do so much more, and it was much more comfortable. I tried using tf on linux and mac for a while, but sincerely, the learning curve was too steep.

Started on a EGA green color screen ascii terminal using tintin++ somewhere araound 22years ago, in a dark and damp underground lab at the university in Odense.
It is the fluttering of moths to the flame that amuses me.

Surprisingly enough, I wasn't able to switch from TF to Zmud...Aristos wrote:Back then I had no money for Zmud, so I used Gmud... Time is precious. Waste it wisely.

TF on a Linux box was also a formidable client.Zhar wrote:Surprisingly enough, I wasn't able to switch from TF to Zmud...Aristos wrote:Back then I had no money for Zmud, so I used Gmud...
