Kiara's event

Code: Select all

Hi

I want to support Kiara on her event.

There are 3 things, I may tell:
1. "A huge winged beast"
When you see such beast, most probably you encountered steed of Morgul mage.
This creature is pretty coward so attacking it will cause it fly away.
On other hand, steed owner won't like that his steed left him, so he might be
very angry.
So if you flee in a hurry, so mage won't see you. He won't be able to prove his
accusations.

2. Darkness
Quite obvious one, but on right of first note of event, mages have infravision.
Usually have more than 3-4 levels of darkness. So you need 2-3 lamps to see in
the room.
I am not sure if their infravision is limited by some level of darkness but my
guess is "no".

who
3. Hard to breath spell
"A feeling of listenessness befalls you as XXX whispers something inaudible
in your direction. You struggle helplessly as your head lowers to meet his
gaze.
XXX grins maliciously and suddenly you find yourself choked by his blinding,
defiling, dreadful breath.
You feel extremely hurt.
The air around you seems to stiflingly thicken as XXX inhales deeply,
causing you to gasp for breath."

Very power spell, got me (supreme CON) to hurt from one spell.
Most probably, from description, next time I would try air and/or death
resistances against.

That's all folks.

In regards to infravision, 1 level of infravision allows you to see in infinitely many levels of darkness. This was changed globally after people complained about vampires carrying to much around at once.

So black bandana, slender luminous vine, bilberry (even though short), night-blue stone among some others will allow you to see through as many levels as needed.

Thanks Zestana
Actually I think that this is bad change. Otherwise you could beat small infravision with more darkness and more infravision.
I think that guild infravision should be limited by 2 levels. So it will bring darkness competition to a new level.

From a spellcasting point of view, why would that make sense? "My infravision isn't as good as yours so please remove your BGR." Vamps and MM would carry 4-5 levels of darkness and a typical infravision spell wouldn't necessarily work against it.

The idea of levels of darkness is foolish and the change allows for a lot more players to use small levels of darkness, rather than 4-5 players hoarding all sources so they can force people to have to light multiple lamps to see. I think it makes a lot of sense, if you can see in the dark, to be able to see in all levels of darkness. *shrug*

Interactions don't break invis:
*guild ability*
You hear a normal sized wraith moving.
You hear a medium sized human moving.
You hear a medium sized human moving.
You hear a medium sized human moving.
You hear a large human moving.
You hear a medium sized human moving.
You hear a large human moving.
Someone reveals you!
The wild dark-skinned male human bellows: If only the signal for our attack
would come.
The ground is flattened, packed, and heavily travelled. The forest cleared
back, with branches twisted and splintered. Tents are scattered around here.
There are two obvious exits: north and west.
Two bloodthirsty dark-skinned male humans, a terrible dark-skinned male human,
a wild dark-skinned male human, a menacing dark-skinned male human and a
glaring dark-skinned male human.

Whom do you wish to target?
You light a torch.

Not at the level of invisibility that mages can delve into. Invisibility used to at least work a lot like darkness did in the sense there were multiple levels of invisibility. Unless your a Cleric you also are invisible or are a cleric you will not be able to see someone.

Necromancers pay tax for a spell that is supposed to coat someone who is invisible with a dust for a short time but the spell does not work on mages.

The Pure snow-white sword also is supposed to allow you to see invisible foes but it only holds 3 charges, the sight only lasts for about 30 seconds, and it only allows you to see invisibility level 1, so something like what the rat-faced ogre in terel has.

One other option its to farm frightening looking skull helmets as they allow you to frighten hidden/invisible beings. But you'd have to have a tick timer every 5 seconds to do "frighten nazgul" and then you'd end up engaging combat with one if they happened to walk by.

There is also one more helmet that allows you to see invisible people, well, at least it was in game a few years ago.
