You will often find that introducing yourself to everyone you encounter can be

When I was a newbie, I was taught this game by a human Calian named Melric.  He
gave 2
platinum coins (at least) to every newbie he met along our travels (including
to me).  I continue
that practice to this day as do many others.

Just something to consider as you dash from place to place.
