Gratitude to our Protectors!

Post by Postmaster » 07 Jun 2010 23:32

Citizens of Sparkle,

We again find ourselves in the debt of the Mercenary Guild for their
steadfast protection of our fair town. Just a few hours ago, cries were
heard in the streets as goblins swarmed past our western defences and
entered the city. I immediately sent forth the hounds that Morgan had left
with me to use to find her commerades in the Mercenary guild should such
a need arise.

As we had hoped, it was not long before the reinforcements arrived. The
Mercenaries and those who they had been able to summon for further support
made quick work of the early waves of attackers, dispatching many small,
runtlike goblins who had been trying to burn down the post office. As time
wore on, the number and power of the enemy grew. The force of our protectors
always proved the greater, and soon even the mighty warriors among the
goblin raiders were slain.

Just as things appeared to be over, a terrifying roar sounded in the
distance, and the most devastating attack we have yet seen was launched
against the city. Many colossal goblins, the likes of which we never hope
to see again arrived with their smaller minions among them. In the end,
it was a contest of endurance, as the protectors wore down the mighty
behemoths, finally killing the last.

We are thankful to Amberlee, Beregond, Earth, Fourtcoer, Fulgrim, Hektor,
Madmartigan, Onton, and Valdar for their willingness to risk their
necks on our behalf. Others may have been on hand, but their willingness to
enter the fray was less evident, or for some reason undocumented.

Signed in gratitude,
Eldon, Magistrate of the City Council of Sparkle

A fun time was had by all, so thank you to the wizards who made that possible!

Although I must say... those goblins are incredibly spammy. It was nearly impossible to keep track of what was going on. A little reduction of the goblin chatter might be something to consider.

Ha! Fulgrim had no chance against the beefed up goblins.
They had some very nice loot. A good suit of armor and a very decent two-handed axe. I'm using it now to honor the event ;)
It was a good event. I do agree on the spam-- if you don't use triggers a lot (I don't) you were utterly lost in that fight. But hooray for the wizards, anyway!

I thought it was rather funny to watch all the big guys talking about the armours, checking the quality of them and weapons too. Then here comes Marshal, runs into the room, sees the loot, grabs it and sells it before anyone can say hello. He had me laughing at that one. Looted that room damn quick too.

haha yea :D
The views posted by me on this forum is not the views of the character Amberlee in-game.
If you ask for my opinion here, you will get MY opinion, not that of my character.

Very cool to see people out there using complete suit of deathmail etc afterwards.
From what I heard the equip dropped by the huge gobbos at the end was in the UBER category.

 That is a good example of when killing newbies is justifiable.
