The fact it doesn't work versus npcs is a pretty big difference.Rhaegar wrote:They can be joined as OCC or LAY (no difference in skills offered). And I didn't really have to see the code, the skill you're training there is called 'impale' and you get the auto-impale stuff there.Tive wrote:i wonder.. have you seen the code or are you trying to be a smartass?Rhaegar wrote:Seriously, who thought about the idea of taking RDA impale (with all the benefits of auto-impale and stuff), changing the hit descriptions and putting it into a goodie only layman?
besides, i think they are also OCC guild (not that it matters:P)
I'm not saying it's exactly the same code (as there are minor differences with the special, it's restrictions etc.) but the special and its workings are extremely similar to RDA's impale. Coincidence?

Re: Calians in crisis?
Being someone actually in the guild albeit more or less retired I don't feel theres more trouble
and bickering than in other guilds. Been pretty quiet actually. Good thing is that we have
an active and fresh council with ideas and initiative and the means to vote in new people if the current grow inactive.
I think Tristram let his temper run away with him when he was punished for his attack.
Wouldn't be the first to get him-/her-/itself kicked out of a guild that way,
but a shame all the same. And even though you don't like a person in a guild I doubt you will get into most guilds
by making deaththreaths against a senior member of said guild in game and here.
Well maybe mages will see it as good roleplay. *waves to Maizara*
Also joining Calia is not really that short or easy.
Sure you can join as follower but you still need to gain approval and do tasks and spend time
with Calians to advance to trainee and then theres more tasks.
So not as easy as it was in the old days.
Plus the place is pretty dead here in the school vacation which can't help.
As for Hektor he holds very strong opinions about how Calia should be that, while commendable,
aren't perhaps shared by the majority of Calians. Playing freelance recruiter and mother hen
to a bunch of trainees and instilling those opinions and values in them might have led to
disappointment with the actual guild? But I'm sure your intentions were the best.
I can't however agree with the apps not getting any help.
I think most try to help with tasks and quests be it hints or physical assistance for some quests.
Skills and specials: Personally I miss maul. Yes, we have very nice skills that get better with more Calians in the team,
but its somewhat harder to solo stuff for fun or eq these days. Blademaster attack, while nice, doesn't quite cut
the mustard against some npcs. Too high chance of a miss and longish reset time. 10 link, High Blademaster.
I guess its just me that liked being more of a generalist rather than a specialist
that more or less has to have a team.
I still like the guild just fine or I'd have gone shopping in the powerguild du jour long ago.
I think the major problem for Calia is that theres not many active members in a guild that favours numbers.
Again this isn't anything other guilds haven't had to deal with. So perhaps just a phase.

Re: Calians in crisis?
Well besides Me, Dorrien, and Budwise. There are few Calians that play anymore. Ninle did a great job of clearing up the messes and when something goes awry punishments are given. I'll keep what info I have gathered on tanking and swarming to myself but I for one do not like anyone other than a calian unless they are really big haha. And well at for calians not wanting to help or team with other calians, this is sad news, but outdated.
I can say though, we are not in a crisis. At least not anymore. Well, that there not being enough Calians are for my liking... yes, a crisis. BUT it is not chaos.
