How would one repair his armours as a smith?

Go to a forge and "smrepair" said item.

Ah, thank you! Further question, could I do any armour, or only metal?

Did you try? Have you read the help file for the smith guild?
I believe most of what there is to know, can be found there.

I did try, but apparently pristine condition is the same thing as prime condition. Hmmm... I thought it was a little less, but apparently it was fine.
