Only include player speech in communication window?

It's hard to talk with your team when fighting in many grindzones. Orcs, haradrims, krougs and orcs just won't stop blabbing! Regarding the official client, I doubt anyone finds this chatter in the communication window very helpful, and believe most find it a hindrance. Please vote so we can get an opinion about this.

I have to agree with Habiki, the spam of some areas are half the fight and can be truly all to annoying, Haven dwarves blabber like there was nothing else to life

I'd like conversation (quest stuff, etc) to stay but chatter to go. At the moment neither is consistently true. If pressed I'd rather just evict NPCs entirely than keep the status quo.

When I <ask> an NPC something, and they reply with something other than "I have no idea," I'd like that to stay in the Comm window. Makes it easier to go back and tell what they said. Useful NPC speak, player chat and <ntell> should be all that gets printed there..

Alternatively, make each speech group it's own div and give it a "delete" button in the corner.. Let Players moderate their own chat log..

I agree it is somewhat useful to have quest info in chat log, but would think quite impractical to recode all quest NPCs. I was hoping for a clever, broad stroke fix for the time being. Wizards?

Npc dialogue that is produced during combat is distinguishable in code from npc dialogue that is produced outside of combat. Are people suggesting that we simply remove combat-generated npc dialogue from the chat box, but leave their normal random chats and the results of <ask> etc?

I suspect that this would be possible without too much trouble. Cotillion would be the voice of wisdom here.

That sounds ideal to me.

It would be a start, but there's all kinds of NPCs that just won't stop chattering unless they're dead. Those would still be problematic.

I sort of do think it might be a mistake to remove all npc dialogue from the chat window. Many potential valuable/interesting things would be missed.

But that just means that there needs to be an option to screen what goes into the communication div. Or, dare I say, add more tabs to that window with things like Combat, Players, Team, etc.

Honestly, the conversation window needs an overhaul already so that things like triggers coloring or modifying text in the main window also happens in the conversation window.
