Yea, I realize I was using those walkthroughs before you ever heard of this game. That is why I know what I am talking about. There is text in there that pertains to me specifically.

The majority? Hellz no. They have been around way longer than 10+ years though. A couple of them, yup. In specific, one where I was having trouble that no one could explain, so I wrote out exactly what I was doing to have a wizard look at it. If you look at the help forums I think I have the longest running thread on questing help, because of how much I suck at it.

I was excited to check this site out as I love soaking up Genesis knowledge from any source.

And I was thinking of doing something similar.

Wow! The hype. Every Genesis secret. *drool*

Wow! The content...Noob sauce. An incomplete not accurate quest list. A herb list without maps where to find them. Some other guff.

So when r u adding sections on
  • Haste - How to increase it, effect on different guild specials
    Fatigue - how to recover it in particular rooms, how to recover more of it in combat, how to avoid loosing any in combat, how to increase it in your enemy
    Armours class - how to boost it
    Poisons
    Darkness
    Invisibility
    Combat teleports
    Flash healing
    Limiting enemy's ability to flee
    Etc
    Etc
    Etc
    Etc
    Etc

Guess what, in a petulant move Shadow Genesis site content has been deleted cus doucher is throwing his toys out of the pram. Way to look like a spoiled brat..

I have allowed myself to restore (quest) part of Shadow Genesis: http://genesis.rlyeh.eu/
It is stripped of all fancy js code, just pure html. Maybe I'll later split it per domains as it's pretty bulky.

Disclaimers (copied from page) - please not discuss them here as it's OT, create new thread and quote me there:
- I'm obviously not the author, so if that is work of single person - that person is able to force me to remove it
- Dear AoB, please don't delete me (should rules change again just let me know, I'll pull the page) :)
- My guilds, please don't banish me :)
- Please use http://genesisquests.pbworks.com and go back to walkthroughs when you're really stuck (I did like that ~30-40% of quests, it was often cool)
- At least when you're young and not trying to max your quest exp later on
- I kind of understand why authors were angry and pulled them, and in my opinion deletions were slightly overreacted, but it has to stay as otherwise it would create gap between old and new players (also between players that have RL friends playing Genesis and those who don't)
- Dear Wizards: please please please fix the quests so site like that is not needed - some quests are ridiculous (muffins quest for example) or require us to be CS graduates or use metagaming/google (Zodiac for example)
- I would assume that quests should be self-contained, that is all information to complete quest should be given in-game and not require extraordinary IQ to solve :)

Toferth: While I am no longer on the Admin, we've talked about the Shadow Genesis site upstairs before, and it's only been good things. It's great to see people create these kind of sites with information about Genesis. I know this particular site, and the pbworks site has been used be plenty of players, both new and old. And the "crossbearer map site" and its predecessors were of course invaluable for many of us oldies. All these things also help promote Genesis. We wizards were sad to see Shadow Genesis gone too. Sites like the "Wall of shame" on the other hand obviously breaks all sorts of rules, but that's something else completely.

Not sure if i should remove the similar section from pbworks now.

On the wizards fixing the quests bit...
If someone applies for wizhood with that goal it could probably happen.
But as u can guess its a huge task.
Its nuts how much is involved just posting hints etc, without having to dig around and understand what is going on behind the scenes.
