Moria.

Post by Alorrana » 10 Nov 2010 23:06

Up the Orcs and trolls in there to Legend size.. then moria would actually be dangerous to enter. I think we forget, acording to history Gandalf didnt even want to go in there.. sooo means Danger.. but on genesis.. You just walk in and do your stuff and back again.. never really any action there. and it would bring some people to Moria if there was actually any xp to gain there..

just a thought on Moria. Any other ideas ?

And turn it into another grinding point? If you want it to become dangerous, bring the Uruk guards back:

I remember that and was going to bring it up when Alorana mentioned it. Those guards weren't there for long and I remember the warning bells tolling all over messengers to keep the *&%# away from Moria.

You did get restored from that one though didn't you? Glad you had a log of it, I never saw exactly how ridiculous they were.

But, I think they only did the insane damage when someone tried to leave their room.
Like getting a free hit from behind :P

true... and it apparently moves around killing what ever it can find, On genesis things are to stationary, and Yeah those Uruks seems pretty nasty.

Well grindig and grinding area, Well yeah why not, Me lacks grind areas with decent xp. They have Harrads, but not beeing in the pocket of the nine, and you will have a hard time killing there.. Moria could be what it is in the movies and books.. somewhere dangerous..

Ofc just my personal oppinion. :)

Yup, Xar and I were restored (I was champion back then). Galadur told us that he got almost killed by the guards, and two experts and one titan were killed, so we went with Xar to check them. We killed a few without problems, but then something went wrong, I was killed in one hit, and so was Xar a few seconds later. The idea was that they had a small chance of blocking at you, and if they were successful they would slash at you, but they weren't blocking, it was just text.

Finwe coded them, they were added back in October 2004, and it when he also added random trolls everywhere (after the guards were removed, he left the trolls around). He had to lower the special damage a few times, but even then they would be able to kill a champion with only one hit. They had some interesting emotes, but were pretty simple actually if you stayed in the room.

If you want risk, Alorrana, try going to Isengard and engaging a group of archers. Those are nasty, hunt and lower one or two health levels per every arrow they throw.

It reflects reality if someone retreats from combat, that the team that stays gets a free hit. Maybe it'll make pfighting more interesting and less of a chase if you know there's a crit% if you run away.

I would never go to Moria or Isengard. There is no reason to go unless you can get to a boss at the end of it and get some neat loot lol.
