traveller + worshipper/militia + calian (focused on swords for the sake of this example) = plenty polearm skill-points?
hobbit + trickster + Ranger = plenty sneak/hide skill-points?
thanar + KoT + merc = plenty skill-points all round?

Please don't follow this path ;)

However if anything like "uh oh - you trained your weapon skill in your occ-guild past what your lay and racial offer ... we'll just let you pay the 0.05% (example - not real info) tax less for your layman and racial!" would be implemented - would that be of any noticeable difference to any of you? ;)

Fourt - I feel your suggestion and I pretty much had the same ca. 1 week before you posted yours.
After thinking about it for a tad longer I saw no real possibility to have it implemented without creating exploit-possibilities for some of the currently existing racial+lay+occ combinations, hence I didn't even come up with it here.
