Make mercy available for everyone, not just KoS.
Name it "generous mood" instead and make it an options available for everyone.

Very interesting idea. What happens when you win? The person is unconscious and you get to take their stuff ... or ... ?

Then you get to decide whether to leave them their to slowly recover or to finish them off in a gruesome fashion. I'm sure we could
all come up with some nice text to describe our 'finishing moves'.

Yes. And s/he gets no recovery to speed-boost their gexp etc. Win-win.
